Greylock Energy CEO Kyle Mork and Greylock Midstream VP of Business Development Kris Hopkins highlight Greylock Midstream’s rapid energy solutions for site developers at DUG Appalachia and SEDC conferences.

Greylock Energy and its subsidiary Greylock Midstream took center stage at two major industry events this August, showcasing its strategic growth and innovative energy solutions.

Greylock leaders spoke at DUG Appalachia and the Southern Economic Development Council conferences, both highlighting how Greylock delivers flexible infrastructure and fast, customer-focused solutions to power large-scale industrial projects across the U.S.

On Aug. 27, Greylock Energy CEO Kyle Mork spoke in the “Operator Spotlight” at Hart Energy’s DUG Appalachia Conference & Expo in Pittsburgh.

Mork gave updates on Greylock Midstream, a subsidiary of Greylock Energy that provides power to large-scale energy users by connecting them directly to our nation’s natural gas interstate pipeline system.

Greylock Midstream offers unique advantages through its commercial and geographic flexibility, faster speed over FERC-regulated systems, and focus on customer service.

Greylock Midstream’s recently completed projects include multi-year revenue contracts with a new steel mill in Kentucky and a heavy industrial plant in West Virginia.

Mork said Greylock Midstream has also signed on to be the gas infrastructure provider for a clean energy storage company in the Southeastern U.S. and is in active discussions to provide energy to data centers, manufacturers, and power plants (both new builds and conversions).

“Greylock Midstream continues to redefine what’s possible in energy infrastructure, providing power to our nation’s industries with speed, flexibility, and ease,” said Mork.

Mork also discussed Greylock’s recent sale of its Wyoming assets and reinvestment of that money into acquisition search efforts. Learn more about Mork’s presentation at DUG Appalachia in a feature story by Hart Energy.

Greylock at SEDC

Greylock Midstream’s Vice President of Business Development Kris Hopkins joined a panel of industry experts at the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) conference in Oklahoma City on Aug. 12.

Following the discussion, titled “Collaborating for Success: Bridging the Gap on Complex Problems,” Hopkins shared the following insights:

  • Energy timelines remain a key gating factor for complex projects to move forward.

  • Developers should get technical experts in the room as early as possible.

  • Many developers have been conditioned to call only local gas utilities when serving new projects. This can be a critical mistake that overlooks interstate pipeline assets that could serve large users.

  • For economic developers overwhelmed by RFPs, it’s reasonable to ask the issuer about the stage of the search (i.e., Is this a feasibility study or a board-approved and funded site search).

“Greylock Midstream combines decades of infrastructure development expertise with a new commercial model that helps manufacturers secure a competitive advantage and opens up more sites for development," Hopkins said. “From natural gas infrastructure to onsite power generation, our knowledgeable team is committed to helping our customers get to market faster.”
